HISTORY

It all started in late 2020 when we discovered a certain Visual Novel engine and wanted to create a fan project of our own for an anime series we liked. In the end it never got released, but it gave us some experience with the software. And so, another project began. This time, we wanted to make an original VN where the characters are, quite literally, us. It was going quite smoothly until we have decided to go a little more ambitious; the project expanded and turned into what is now known as Mousou//Sekai. It was about March 2021 when we formally decided to form this team and dedicate our efforts, passion, and creativity into making stories. And so, on March 30 2021, 46hana became reality.

Fast forward to 2022, Mousou//Sekai was kind of a mess with too many characters and too much worldbuilding. Having evaluated that we can't really take on this project at the state we are, we decided to pursue something smaller first to gain more experience and some starting funds to do M//S justice. That's how Spring Poems was born, which is planned to be our first released project.

WHAT WE DO

Here at 46hana, we want to do more than just release dating simulators or gameplay-focused titles. We believe that the VN medium has great potential for storytelling, some of which we can see in many popular Japanese plotge - the message matters. Of course, we will put out some fun titles out there too, so everyone can find something that speaks to them.

Currently, our primary focus are Visual Novels and in the nearest future it will stay that way. However, that is not solely what we will be doing. As the time goes, we want to release Light Novels and Web Novels too, maybe even Manga. And who knows, perhaps one day we will release actual gameplay-packed video games. This journey has only just begun and it will take years for us to see it to its conclusion, but we are fired up for whatever awaits us!

NAME ORIGIN

46hana comes from Japanese wordplay 4(shi)6(ro)hana and means white flower. It can be written as 46hana, Shirohana, or with the kanji - 46花. We went with this style because although the white flower gives off a serene vibe, it's also oftentimes associated with death. Same with our works; they aren't as happy as peaceful as they may seem at first.
